Shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, New York State Police troopers conducted a traffic stop of Chester resident Anastasia Latassa on Spring Street in Monticello, when she was spotted operating her Hyundai Sonata with no brake lights.

During the subsequent traffic stop, police said that it was determined that Latassa was driving while intoxicated. She was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters in Liberty, where it was determined that her blood alcohol content was .11 percent, above the legal limit.

Latassa was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Following arraignment, she was released to a sober third-party and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Monticello Court on April 12 to answer the charge.
